His intimate knowledge of South Florida’s marine ecosystems gives him a distinct advantage when locating fish across changing seasons, tides, and weather conditions. What sets Captain Alek apart is his technical mastery of local fisheries combined with an approachable, patient teaching style. Beyond reading moon phases and tracking water temperatures, he studies the subtle migratory patterns and feeding behaviors of prized target species, including sailfish, mahi-mahi, grouper, and tarpon. Ready for a Shark on the Line?

Take in Miami from the water, passing the port’s cruise and cargo ships and waterfront homes before stopping at Monument Island. Enjoy city views along the route, then spend time on a white sandy beach with your choice of music, snacks, and refreshments. If you’d like a cookout, BBQ is available by request. Bring the food, and the captain will prepare it to your liking. This outing brings together sightseeing, port activity, and an island stop, giving your group room to enjoy the water at an easy pace. See a busy stretch of the city, then settle into a slower island setting. Longer outings are also available if you’d like more time on the water; contact the captain to ask about options.

A City Cruise with a Beachside Finish

Biscayne Bay gives this outing a memorable backdrop, with docks, seawalls, and bridges set against Miami’s skyline. As daylight fades, you’ll fish these shoreline spots for Tarpon, Snook, Mangrove Snapper, and Jacks, with the scenery shifting from sunset colors to city lights. The crew guides you through productive areas while you enjoy the change from golden-hour fishing to an evening on the water. Species can vary with conditions, so each outing brings its own possibilities. This trip suits anglers who want to cast for local fish while taking in the city from the bay. Keep your camera nearby for skyline photos between casts, and enjoy a side of Miami that feels different from the street-level view.

Miami at Dusk: Rods Ready, City Lights Ahead

This trip gives you the chance to try several approaches instead of sticking to one fishing style. With experienced guides leading you to productive areas, you can troll, jig, or fish near the bottom while targeting King Mackerel, Grey Snapper, and grouper. Each technique offers a different way to work the water, and the crew can help you get comfortable with the method being used. The coastal scenery adds to the time on the water, while the mix of species keeps the fishing flexible. Whether you’re an experienced angler or still building confidence, you’ll have guidance throughout. Conditions affect which fish are active, but the range of techniques gives you plenty to explore and enjoy.

See What’s Possible When You Change Your Fishing Style

As the boat reaches deeper fishing grounds, the focus turns to King Mackerel, Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, and other local species. The experienced crew shares guidance and techniques, making the trip approachable whether you fish often or are still learning. You’ll have the chance to pursue several sought-after fish rather than focusing on just one target. Each stop brings a new opportunity to see what’s active, while the open-water setting adds to the experience. A catch isn’t guaranteed, but the crew will help you make the most of the fishing grounds and enjoy the time on the water.

A Different Kind of Test in Deeper Water

This outing offers more than one way to fish, with techniques matched to the conditions. You might troll for fast-moving fish, drift bait through the water, or focus on species near the bottom. Mahi Mahi, King Mackerel, and Wahoo are among the possible targets, alongside reef-dwelling fish. The variety gives you a chance to experience both active pelagic fishing and a more focused approach around reefs. Experienced guides help you follow the day’s opportunities, so you can learn as you go whether you’re a regular angler or new to fishing. The catch can vary, but the mix of methods and potential targets keeps the experience flexible from one fishing spot to the next.

Different Waters, Different Ways to Fish

Fishing is only part of this catch-and-cook experience. The goal is to target fish that can be brought back to the island and prepared for a meal. After the trip, the catch is filleted and made into sashimi, grilled on a BBQ, or prepared both ways. You can enjoy the process from the day’s catch to the finished dish, with the island as your setting. What’s available to prepare depends on what you catch, so the meal reflects the day on the water. It’s a hands-on choice for anglers who want to enjoy their catch soon after landing it and experience a fresh seafood meal prepared on the island.

Bring Your Catch Ashore to Enjoy a Freshly Prepared Island Meal

With two boats, a larger group can share a fishing outing before gathering ashore for lunch. The plan is to fish for the meal, then unwind on the island while the catch is filleted and prepared. Enjoy it barbecue-style, as sashimi, or both, and try fish from the day’s outing in a relaxed setting. What’s served depends on the catch, so lunch reflects what the group brings in. The format keeps the experience social from start to finish: time on the water, a chance to relax on the island, and a meal made from your catch. It’s a fitting choice for friends, family, or other larger parties who want fishing and lunch to be part of one shared outing.
