Ready to hit the water for some serious fishing action? Our 6-hour Extended Half Day Morning Fishing Trip is just the ticket. We'll cruise out from Miami Beach Haulover and into Biscayne Bay, where the fish are always biting and the views never disappoint. Whether you're an old salt or new to the game, this trip's got something for everyone. We're talking King Mackerel, Grey Snapper, and Groupers - the kind of catches that'll have you bragging at the dock.
Picture this: You're out on the water as the sun's coming up, rod in hand, waiting for that first big strike. Our experienced captains know these waters like the back of their hand, and they're all about putting you on the fish. We'll mix it up with trolling, jigging, and bottom fishing - whatever it takes to fill the cooler. With room for up to 6 anglers, it's perfect for a family outing or a day out with your fishing buddies. Just remember, the early bird gets the worm - or in this case, the fish!
We've got all the gear you need, from top-notch rods and reels to the latest in fish-finding tech. Trolling's the name of the game for those speedy King Mackerel - we'll drag lines behind the boat and wait for them to hit. For the bottom dwellers like Grouper and Snapper, we'll drop lines straight down and feel for the bite. Our captains have a few tricks up their sleeves, like using live bait to entice the big ones. And don't worry about finding the fish - we know all the local honey holes where they like to hang out.
"My son and I headed out for a fish with Bearcutbandit charters today. The weather wasn't kind but Alek still put us on some some awesome fish and we had a killer day! If you're in Miami, make sure you look Bearcutbandit charters up and get out for a fish with Alek 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼" - Stewart
"Outstanding trip with my 13 year old son. We caught a few nice fat snappers, then went hunting for mahi and found a nice school! Kept 6 mahi and 3 snappers. Couldn't have been a better experience! Knowledgeable guide, independent operator, born & raised in these waters. He really knows how to put you on the fish! Filleted them perfectly for us as well (and I'm a Chef, pretty picky about that stuff). We will be back for sure!" - Jon
"Great trip and Capt. Alek knows secrets! We started at 0700 with a trip down the beautiful Miami River. Picked up some live bait from a buddy of the Captain's outside Treasure Island. The Captain then put us on a spot that produced 30+ yellowtail snapper, 3 mackerel (1 keeper), and a bonita. We got a minimum of one bite per bait. Sometimes multiple bites per bait. Using mid-range spinning gear, it was non-stop action. Really, a perfect way to spend any morning. The Captain has a gorgeous center console that is perfect with this kind of trip. He is cordial, experienced, attentive, and focused on you having tight lines. We talked about many other fishing opportunities there in the Miami area and Capt. Alek would definitely be our go-to guy for exploring them. Highly recommend." - Karl
Let's talk about what's swimming out there. First up, the Gag Grouper - these bad boys are like underwater tanks. They love to hang around rocky bottoms and reefs, and they'll put up one heck of a fight. Best time to target them is in the cooler months, from October to December. When you hook one, it's like trying to reel in a bulldozer - pure muscle!
Next, we've got the Scamp Grouper. These guys are a bit smaller than their Gag cousins, but what they lack in size, they make up for in taste. They're often found in deeper waters, so when we're targeting Scamp, we might need to drop our lines a bit further. Spring and fall are prime time for Scamp fishing.
Grey Snapper, also known as Mangrove Snapper, are the tricksters of the bunch. They're smart, quick, and can be a real challenge to catch. But man, are they worth it! These fish are available year-round, but summer is when they really come out to play. Light tackle and a stealthy approach are key to landing these crafty critters.
Red Grouper are the workhorses of the grouper family. They're not as big as Gags, but they're more common and just as tasty. You can find them year-round, but they tend to move to deeper waters in the summer. When you're reeling one in, get ready for a workout - these fish don't give up easily!
Last but not least, we've got the King Mackerel, or 'Kingfish' as we call 'em. These are the speedsters of the sea. They're known for their blistering runs and aerial acrobatics when hooked. Spring and fall are the best times to target Kings, as they migrate through our waters. When one of these hits your line, hold on tight - it's gonna be a wild ride!
So there you have it, folks - a morning of non-stop fishing action in some of Miami's best waters. Whether you're looking to land your personal best or just want to enjoy a day out on the water, our Extended Half Day Morning Fishing Trip has got you covered. With experienced guides, top-notch gear, and fish just waiting to be caught, all that's missing is you. Don't let this opportunity slip away like a big one off the hook. Give us a call, book your trip, and get ready for a fishing adventure you'll be talking about for years to come. The fish are biting, and we've got a spot on the boat with your name on it!

My 9 year old and I went out with Captain Alek and we caught fish in both the ocean and intercoastal. I really appreciated the time Alek gave to my 9 year old in helping him fish and be part of the fishing experience. Within 45 minutes of being out on the ocean reef we caught 2 king mackerel and then headed in for different fish. The 6 hours flew by as we had fun fishing and sight seeing. My 9 year old wanted to stay out longer and wants me to book another trip with Captain Alek. Highly recommend Captain Alek!

Gag Groupers are tough fighters that'll test your skills. These fish typically range from 10 to 30 pounds, with some monsters hitting 50+. Look for them around rocky bottoms, reefs, and shipwrecks in 60 to 250 feet of water. They're ambush predators, so fish near structure. Spring and fall are prime seasons when water temps are right. Anglers love Gags for their hard-pulling fight and excellent table fare. To land one, use heavy tackle and big live baits like pinfish or mullet. A local trick: when you feel the bite, reel fast and pull up hard to get them away from their rocky homes before they can dive back in. It's a real battle, but that's what makes Gag fishing so rewarding.

Grey Snappers, also called Mangrove Snappers, are smart, wary fish that'll keep you on your toes. They typically range from 1 to 5 pounds inshore, but can hit 10+ pounds offshore. You'll find them around structures like docks, bridges, and reefs in depths from 5 to 100 feet. They're most active at night and during tide changes. Anglers love Grey Snappers for their excellent eating and the challenge of outsmarting them. They're known for their light, quick bites. To catch them, use light tackle and small live baits like shrimp or pilchards. Here's a local trick: chum lightly to draw them in, then use a small hook with just enough weight to get your bait down. Be ready - when they bite, it's usually just a quick tap before they're gone.

King Mackerel, or Kingfish, are speed demons that'll make your reel scream. They typically run 10 to 30 pounds, but can top 50. You'll find them in open water from 30 to 150 feet deep, often near structures like reefs or wrecks. They're most active in warmer months, especially during bait migrations. Anglers love Kings for their blistering runs and aerial acrobatics. To catch one, troll with live bait like blue runners or mullet, or use big spoons. Here's a local trick: use a stinger rig with two hooks - one in the bait's nose, one trailing. Kings often strike the back half of the bait, so this helps you hook up more often. When a King hits, hold on tight - the first run is usually their fastest and longest.

Red Groupers are hard-fighting fish that'll give you a workout. They usually weigh 5 to 15 pounds, but can reach 30+. Look for them around rocky bottoms and reefs in 60 to 300 feet of water. They're most active in warmer months, from late spring through fall. Anglers love Red Groupers for their tasty, white meat and the challenge of pulling them off the bottom. To catch one, use heavy tackle and big live baits like pinfish or squid. Here's a tip: when you feel the bite, reel fast and keep tension on the line. These fish will try to dive back into their rocky homes, so you need to turn their heads quickly. It's a tough fight, but landing a big Red Grouper is always a thrill.

Scamp Groupers are prized catches, known for their sweet, white meat. These fish usually run 4 to 6 pounds, but can reach up to 20 in deeper waters. You'll find them hanging around rocky ledges and reefs in 75 to 300 feet of water. They're most active in warmer months, from late spring through fall. Anglers love Scamps for their taste and the challenge of getting them off the bottom. They put up a good fight for their size. To target them, use live bait like pinfish or sardines on a strong leader. Here's a tip: when you hook one, reel steadily to keep it coming up. If you give it slack, it'll dive right back into its rocky hideout. Patience and steady pressure are key to landing these tasty groupers.
